Hello Lovely people! Hi and hi! ๐ The word ‘constant‘ isn’t a word I’m familiar with, because it has and does not apply to my life or what I have observed about life so far.
Nothing is constant for very long. A new era, government, ideology will come along and upset the balance or at least try to upset the balance of what was and is, soon enough.
It’s desirable to have situations and circumstances you like to remain constant, but it doesn’t. And that’s why it’s important to seize the moment, seize the day and seize every opportunity or idea you get, because in a twinkle of an eye, they could be gone; leaving you wondering with the frustrating ‘what ifs’.
The only people who don’t want ‘constant’ are those who are tired ๐ด of routine. Tired of where they are. Tired of the same old. Those who want — nay — those who are restless and on the verge of desperation, for a difference. For something new, fresh, and exciting. In short, those who desire an extreme makeover of their entire lives or some areas of their lives. These people will run for dear life, if anyone makes the mistake of mentioning ‘constant‘.
We want stability, but we really don’t want repetition. How can stability come with newness or change for that matter! We would constantly have to alternate between stability and instability, or we risk being stale. How do we remain fresh and renewed? By embracing that pesky, scary, haven‘t-you–done–enough–meddling?! word: Change.
As I was saying, we would be alternating between stability and instability, because we need time to adjust to change.
Change is indeed a constant part of life. We just don’t want to admit it to ourselves, at least not all the time.
There’s the change in weather, from one extreme ๐ค to the other ๐ง๐ชsometimes. There’s the change of time, ๐it will not remain 1pm because you want it so. These brings about mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights๐. Sunrise ๐ and sunset๐.
Not to mention us personally. We are not 5 year olds anymore. We are all increasing in days and unavoidably, years. We change our clothes and unmentionables (hopefully!). People have come and gone in our lives. We have lost some and gained more(hopefully!). Some of us have ‘started’ families. We are definitely not who we were before what we now have, or know.
So what has happened? We. Have. Changed! Life and living are the constant changes that happen on us or are made by us. Whether we like it or not, change is the only constant thing, because it’s everywhere around us. Yesterday was called a certain name and date. It’s different today, tomorrow will also be different.
Let’s not play ostrich with change, especially when they are tested and proven to be good. Even if it hasn’t been tested and proven, but you believe it will lead to a solution. Well hey, it either doesn’t work or you become an inventor! If it doesn’t work, you simply try it another way.
I was just thinking about the ๐ก light bulb inventor. What would have happened if he had given up, at the 50th attempt? I would like to think someone else would have taken it up and succeeded. But what are the chances of that really happening? Not many. We all need to learn from the light bulb ๐ก inventor. I don’t think there’s something, anything, you would try in 50 different ways that won’t budge. But many of us make 3 attempts, and we are so done. Well, that is so not done!
Let’s embrace change because methinks, it’s really why the world goes round!๐๐๐
Shalom. ๐
