There’s Always Better

I was musing about so many things and it was about men staying or not staying being made to be women’s responsibility.

Or let me put it this way.

A woman being told or rather taught over the years, that she is responsible for how a man behaves, if he stays or not in a relationship.

This kind of thinking or mindset has made women vulnerable to a lot of terrible decisions, situations and outcomes.

A woman who thinks that keeping ‘her’ man, and a man staying in a relationship, not staying in a marriage or a man not straying, is dependent on how submissive and how well-behaved she is, how she pampers the man how much of herself she gives up. Such women are in danger of getting into a relationship with any man. Afterall, it is alleged that it’s their responsibility, what the man does or doesn’t do, so any man will do.

Then I thought about the movie I had watched recently it’s called “Raisin in the Sun”. A woman went to a store to buy apples. As she checked the apples she found the apples were bad. Then she asked,

Could you please get me better apples and I know you have better apples in your store apart from the ones you have displayed.”
And the man said something about not making the apples and all of that but he will check. As he was heading into the inner part of the store to get her better apples, another lady comes in and she asks if she could have a basket of apples from your inner store and he readily agrees.

When he came back for the previous customer he gave her what was worse than what she saw on display.

And she was like,

“Am I paying for the worms too?”

Then the attendant replied, “That’s what we have. If you don’t want it you can leave.”

She was like, “You know what? I am not buying them. There’s is a better store.”

I think the word that got me then was there is a better store.

How many times have we women picked the wrong people to be with because we did not think there was any better anywhere?

We thought if we could not find the best of what we wanted from a place — a particular place — then we can’t find good anywhere else.

Now some people would have just swallowed their dignity and bought the bad apples for bragging rights of “I got my apples from an exclusive store“.

But how does that serve you in the end if the apples are terrible, full of worms and then you paid a premium for it; when you didn’t think you could get any better anywhere else?

But this character believed she could get better and she did!

Now it was not in a store but it was like a grocery stand and the fruits there were beautiful, colourful, fresh…..

She could pick from the best. What I got from there is that there are better.

There are other stores. That is what I got from the above described.

How many women have settled because the man was high-priced with every woman’s quote and unquote ideal man? They did not have the courage to think that there was better somewhere else that — there could be better someone else; because really you could not get what you wanted from a high price store.

Let’s bring it back now to what we women do alot.

We shop for clothes, wardrobe generally speaking. So you go to that store to buy clothes. And its in one of the choicest areas at a high price store and address.

Their cheapest clothes, cost you more than 70% of your salary. The clothes are not even your taste, they don’t fit you, they don’t size you. They look so drab. So to your own eyes anyway they are ugly. You can’t believe anyone would actually buy that.

People want that dress, it is some people’s dream dress it’s just not yours. Which is why you should ask yourself why you should buy the dress, but out of pride and because we don’t want to look like we don’t have money especially when the attendants in the store are looking down their noses at you.

They are probably thinking, “Look at the way she is dressed. Does she even think she can afford a dress like this?” They are already looking down on you and you want to prove to them that, “Yes I can afford it!” So against better judgement, against wise internal council, you whip out your credit card or your atm card and you make a purchase of a dress you don’t like; with an exorbitant amount you cannot afford and then of course you feel better when the eyes of the sales attendant lights up and all of a sudden they recognise you, they see you–

And that is how a lot of women pick their husbands high-priced, famous, well known, from a great family background, costing them more than they can afford to give of themselves — cost anybody more than they should be able to give of themselves. Leaving them emotionally bankrupt for the rest of their lives, just so that they can show everyone that they can have a great catch, they can snag a great man, that everybody wants for themselves.

A lot of us where we go to stores to buy clothes When we step into a place that cost more than we can afford, for a dress that is not our taste. The sane thing to do, the sensible thing to do if we were thinking straight is to say to ourselves that, “Well I cannot afford this dress. And even if I can afford it, it’s not my style. Aaaand I don’t like how I’m being treated here.”

So you get out and find a better store. A better store where you will find amazing clothes. The kind of clothes you like, your taste. You feel like you could buy out the whole store and its would not do any major damage to your salary and you go to the store. A store where they are probably having their spring cleaning. You’re like, “I can’t believe this!” while there are amazing clothes that you like. You’re wondering, “For these clothes to be this cheap are they original? Are they new or second hand?”

But even before you can ask that question you can see the brand tag on the cloth for you to know that this clothes are new.

You are like, “O ye store. Where have you been all my life?” You know? And then you get to meet new people the environment, the ambience is just welcoming and soothing. And then you get to meet people who are picking clothes right along with you.

You are able to meet amazing people when you start a conversation and then you agree on a lot of things while you’re picking clothes and you even help others to pick the right clothes for them because they ask you.

You could have missed all that, if you had stayed where you were not really wanted. Where someone thought without them your life was nothing and then you didn’t get enough courage to find better.

You could have missed, someone who is all of so many wonderful things, but treat you like their own life is better because you are in it. And they come with family, they come with friends that take an instant liking to you.

Treat you very well and say, “You know what? If this man does something you don’t like report him to me and I will shape him up! Look you are the best thing that happened to this man and he is much happier, much relaxed with you in his life. We can’t afford to lose you!”

They have more prestige and much more standing in the society, than who you were willing to settle with.

Why have a trophy husband when you can have the best, that the only cost you have to pay is you being you? You don’t have to exert yourself. You are appreciated for the you, that even you hardly appreciates.

If you don’t get anything out of all I have written so far, please get this:

There’s always better. Never settle.

There’s a difference between settling and contentment.

When you choose what you need above what you want, it’s contentment.

When you choose brand over quality, or you choose “popular” over your needs, then you are settling.

Hope for better and seek for the best.

Shalom!

Unexpected Turns

Hello wonderfully-made! It’s an honour to be in your reading pleasure.
I found myself smiling to myself remembering a movie scene:

J: “Is there anywhere on this list that says, marry a man that isn’t your fiancé?!”

One of the girls just waking from a hang over, squinted her eyes to better see the said list shoved in her face, replied with a calm and barely concealed amusement, that I and the character found annoying:

“I don’t see anything like that here”

I was about scolding the wild friends for allowing a bachelorette party end, with the bride-to-be waking up in the suite of a stranger, she had drunkingly married the night before. (Taking a deep breathe)

How wild is that?

But my mind companion, reminded me that it ended well for her good. She met an amazing man she would have missed out on, or not have met ordinarily.

The movie title is “I Married Who?”

That was one unexpected turn, because the bride had a plan, had a list of what she would do and how.

By the way, I don’t recommend taking alcohol. People have found themselves in irreversible and damaging situations because of alcohol. Avoid it like a plague, please, because it is.

However, there are certain things that are beyond our control, that could affect us positively or negatively.

So if you are reading this, and you don’t like surprises or unplanned changes intruding in your space and imposing on your plans, you need Jesus more than anyone else.

Why?!

Well, because:

  1. Jesus Christ is the only guarantee you have for everything working together for your good.
  2. You can’t control and predict everything.
  3. Unexpected turns are part of life and living. And that is totally out of your control.
  4. Jesus Christ is an anchor especially when nothing else makes sense. And is there a day that everything ever makes sense? Non!

What holds me and keeps me sane when things fell apart, is that Jehovah through Jesus Christ holds my future.

That and the truth that Jehovah is more powerful than any situation, circumstance or happenings.

He knew they could or would happen. Nothing catches God by surprise. Jehovah is all knowing, all seeing, Almighty, all sufficient.

Aaand nothing is out of His control.

I think it makes sense to form an alliance with Someone Who can do all things, so I can get some things done! I mean isn’t that what world leaders do among themselves?

“I don’t have this but you have it and I need it. Let’s form an alliance.”

Next thing you know a trade by barter arrangement is made for mutual benefits of all parties involved.

Unexpected turns are inevitable. They take you by surprise, sweeping you off your feet sometimes. But when you have Jehovah as your God, you call on Him and He will answer.

He may not answer as we expect Him, but He will answer in a way that will make you say with joy and thankfulness, “If not for that unexpected turn, I would not be in this happy state today“.

Like one of my favourite persons would say, “ It will end in praise”.

However, if you try to do life alone without Jesus Christ in your life, it’s will end in tears. That’s just the Truth.

Lord Jesus Christ come into my life. Take control of my life. I surrender everything to your control. As from this moment, I am, yours and yours alone, completely. Oh Jehovah my God as I become Yours completely, complete me, in Jesus Christ name I pray, Amen.”

Read your Bible and pray everyday. For all round growth.

Chronicles of the Crown: Misunderstanding

Indira!!!

Birds merrily chirping at the palace grounds took off in fright.

Indira and her cousin jumped, as the Emperor thundered.

“What on earth did you do, I’ra?” Her cousin looked at her in wonder.

Before Indira could respond — so perplexed she was — her husband stormed into her rooms.

“Privacy!” He ordered in an angry voice. All the servants scurried out of the Queen’s Quarters.

Indira and her cousin stood, both in anxious wonder.

“I’m sorry Princess MayRose, but I need to speak to my Empress alone.”

“I understand that, your Highness, but I don’t feel at ease leaving my sister, while you are in this…..mood.”

“I would not assault my own wife, if that is what gives you concern, Princess.”

When MayRose didn’t look convinced, Indira gave her a reassuring smile, and she reluctantly left.

As she was wondering were to stay to be close enough should the Emperor turn violent, she saw the Emperor’s brother coming warily towards the Queen’s Quarters.

“Greetings Princess”

“Greetings your Highness”

“What brings you here?

“My brother is quite vexed, though he’s not violent outside the battle field and he honours women, I just want to make sure…..” He shrugged helplessly.

Obviously he’s not used to seeing his brother this angry. A realisation MayRose found the least reassuring.

“Very well. We might as well stay here just in case. Hopefully we worry in vain.”

“Hopefully”, He said.

In the inner room, Queen Indira stood calmly as her husband paced infront of her.

Finally he spoke in a strained voice, “Where were you the night before, my Lady?”

“Right here, my lord”

All night?”

Oh dear.

” Nay, my lord”

Nay? Very well then. Let me rephrase. Who were you with, Indira?” He asked in a dangerously quite voice.

Indira looked into his eyes, now fiery gold and asked, “Am I being accused of something, my lord?”

Indira.” He looked like he was ready to explode. “Just answer the question.”

“Very well. I went out to see my brother, your highness”

“Your….what?”

Your brother in-law, your Highness, or is that no longer permitted?”

Her husband looked shocked and confused.

“But Aunt Omra said….” He whispered

Oh the snake!

Said what? Your majesty?” Indira was beginning to get angry herself.

“Never mind. Why did you have to sneak out to see him?”

Never m____!

“Because that’s what he requested!”

“And you couldn’t tell me where you were going?”

“I did not see the necessity. He said to tell no one.”

“I see”

“I realize how this looks to you. But I hope you can trust my sincerity.”

Her husband looked perplexed. Indira knew he trusted her. But the situation looked suspicion especially with his aunt stirring the brew.

She really understood her husband’s dilemma.

To believe her means his “aunt” was wrong.

To completely believe his aunt, means to belief his queen was an adulteress.

I’m going to “properly” introduce myself to Omra.

Her husband was about walking out, but she blocked his path. He looked at her with a startled frown.

Well my lord. No one may never have dared to block your part, but no one has dared accuse me of such a vile thing even if it was implied.

We are not finished, my lord.”

“What am I being accused of? And who is my accuser?”

“No one has accused you____”

No one, my Lord?”

I am Indira, princess of Amfyre Empire, queen of Xenia and Empress of your empire, your Majesty. I will not tolerate any falsehood implied against my person.”

“Indira calm yourself. I did not think you capable of falsehood.”

Indira smiled in grim amusement.

“You did not? Then why did you come in this room in such a fashion, my lord? Did you know what my cousin asked me, What did you do?. Now if my cousin could ask me that, by now news has spread that I have committed such an offence that made you loose your temper. Rumours would be rife by now.”

Indira continued in a much solemn voice, “If  we do not discuss and resolve this openly, you will not like how my family will take it. And by then I will not interfere.”

The Emperor looked at her in calm understanding and took a deep breathe while running a hand through his midnight dark hair.

“What do you want from me, Indira?”

Indira walked up to her husband,  held his strong hands and looked in his eyes, “Be sincere and open with me, my lord, as I will you. Otherwise, we will have a divided kingdom on our hands and that is dangerous for all concerned”

The Emperor slowly nodded and squeezed her hands in agreement.

Chronicles of the Crown: The Proposal

“My Lord! I have something of importance to discuss with you”, Empress Indira said almost breathlessly, as she more or less flew into her husband’s rooms.

The emperor who was ready to explode at the reports his closest chiefs were relating to him, calmed considerably at his lovely queen’s voice.

The chiefs who had been fidgeting before, gave a collective but discreet sigh of relief.

For one, the tense secret meeting was becoming almost unbearable. The emperor was upset — and rightly so. The news wasn’t good news. And they sure weren’t happy about the news, not to mention having the unenviable job of relating it to his Highness. The queen bursting in, was life saving indeed — even if that was out of character.

For two, no matter what the naysayers had to say, Queen Indira was the best thing to happen to the Emperor — and the empire — as far as they were concerned.

She had a positive influence on the empire and a pleasant effect on the Emperor. Of course the naysayers wouldn’t like her. They had little excuse to overthrow the man. She had done a lot to endear the people to their king.

“You may be excused”, the emperor said to his chiefs, with a slight trace of amusement at his queen’s unusual entrance.

He can imagine how their daughter will be like — when his queen will allow him to be that close to her for a daughter to be born — fierce and unpredictable, among other things.

He should be concerned because his Indira was usually calm and hardly ruffled. That she bursted into his rooms — of all places — gave him secret delight. That she almost shouted was quite interesting indeed. That she came to him with her concerns, made him feel capable and strong. After all she had been a queen managing her own kingdom before he married her.

The chiefs bowed slightly to him, and gave his queen a respectful bow on their way out, which she returned with an equally respectful nod.

He looked at her closely. She was unveiled! Her hair was mostly covered, but she always covered her face anytime she was in public. Interesting.

Not that he blamed her. Some of the men in the kingdom had been openly gawking at her, when she arrived as his new queen few moons back. When he had asked why she began veiling herself, she had told him she didn’t like how some of the men looked at her. Well, he didn’t either, but he would never have veiled her. He would have found a way, to handle the situation. She insisted she wanted to veil herself and he respected her wish.

She was wearing a lovely green dress, white linen veil trimmed with golden thread and yellow stones.

And he liked green.

“Have a sit, my Sweet. While you tell me who dared to trouble my queen”, he said as he guided her to a white and gold couch that could easily sit four people.

She smiled. He had always had a way of making her smile or laugh. As he sat at the other end of the couch in his white and gold apparel, he looked very angelic, which further relaxed her as she told him about her estranged cousin’s trouble.

“Please my Lord. Help me find him and extend a hand of friendship to him”, she concluded.

“There’s more, isn’t there?”

She was a bit surprised at his intuition.

“Well yes, it’s a suggestion and a favour I want to ask of you”

“I’m listening”

“Could you please have him wed your sister? I know it might be too much of me to ask. And I don’t want it to seem like I’m taking your generosity for granted, my lord. But my brother needs someone to care and look out for. A good reason to settle and make good use of his talents. He a very good man, a seasoned warrior, loyal, well educated, honest and honourable. You remind me of him, because you two have so much in common. I can vouch for him. He will treat your sister well. Not just because of who she is, but because he has the qualities of a great husband. Your sister will grow and blossom with his care. Your sister needs someone who is gentle, loving and strong. Someone strong enough to protect her, and what is hers, but will not bully her, or abuse the privileges. That someone — if I may be so bold, your Highness — is my brother.”

As she concluded she held her breathe praying he would agree.

She had come to love her sister-in-law as if she were one of her own sisters. She was gentle, humble, bubbly and delicate. She couldn’t bear for her to be passed as a gift to one of the generals for meritorious service, when in actual fact most of them were too interested in the throne.

Her gentle sister-in-law will be devastated should she be married to someone whose only interest was her brother’s throne.

It was indeed urgent to divert his Highness to a more suitable person, who wasn’t covetous — before it was too late.

Her brother-cousin and sister-in-law will make a great pair. Yahweh, please please let my husband agree to this match. The vultures are circling, Father. Especially that aunt of his with her horrid scheming. She wants her son, LORD — her son! To succeed the throne! She’s planning for her son to marry the princess. Hmmph. I wouldn’t be doing this if her son wasn’t cruel and as over ambitious as his mother. Please God help!

“Fine. Consider it done.”

Indira sucked in her breathe in shock.

 What!! Just like that?!

 Thank you Yahweh! Thank You!

My Lord? Thank you, thank you! I am most grateful.”

She goshed as she grabbed his hand with both of hers, in gratitude.

“There’s something I will like you to do for me, my queen”

“What, my Lord?”

He held her eyes with his, as he kissed her hand.

“Please from now on, call me by my name, Indira”.

Loyalty

Hello Beautiful People!

Well, I have a persistent musing I’m agitated about and so that I can sleep well, I need to share.

It’s about loyalty in it’s most misplaced, misinterpreted and abused form.

Loyalty is even used to emotionally blackmail people to support the wrong things, for goodness sake!

I don’t know why I’m surprised though. People use their twisted interpretation of the Bible to blackmail people into silence, slavery, subservience, servitude, and submission. Ironic how the words share the same first letter with submission.

The word “submission” seems to rub me the wrong way — which of course is not God’s fault. It simply has more to do with how the word is misinterpreted than the word itself.

Back to ‘loyalty’.

I was watching a Mexican Soap yesterday — can’t remember it’s title now.

A psychopath who strongly believes he ‘owns’ his wife — and everyone around him for that matter — has the wife filing for a divorce and invites his business partner for dinner.

The business partner just asked, “What do you want?”

Psycho: “Can’t I treat my friend and business partner to dinner?”

BP: “Just cut to the chase. What do you want?”

“You are friends with Ignacia, can you tell me what she’s up to lately?”

“Why don’t you ask her yourself?”

Then the psycho tried the you-are-my-friend-you-should-be-loyal-to-me line, when the business partner refused to spill.

Never mind that the psycho guy had gotten his business partner’s girlfriend pregnant and incited someone to kill her, when she threatened to spill their secrets.

Funny how the least loyal people make themselves an authority on loyalty and even have the nerve to demand it from others, whom they have mistreated, by the way. Very sickening.

Then today, someone was talking about the wrongs of her sibling and was apologising for it.

Then she was asked if she had better to offer in place of the sibling.

I think my thoughts froze for a few minutes. It was hard to take in.

Then when my thoughts thawed, I asked myself, isn’t the truth something good enough to offer?

Funny thing is, people were well aware of what the sibling has done.

The problem with most people was that a sister “telling on” her brother is seen as being disloyal only to gain an advantage and upper hand.

That could well be true, but when loyalty is used to cover up bad stuff, then how do we expect equity in such a society?

Loyalty shouldn’t be demanded at the cost of your conscience. Nor should you be asked to murder sleep, just to prove your loyalty to anyone.

Personally, I’m loyal to what is right and just. If you’re in the wrong and you refuse to listen to reason, I will sound the alarm on you. Or at least cut all ties with you. And if asked why, I will say, “Our ideals no longer correlate.”

Of course, anyone who knows me, will get suspicious and begin to investigate. There are different ways to tell the truth. But the truth must be said and unheld.

Of course, the truth can uphold itself. But when it does, it would be a day of regret for all those found reasons not to support the truth.

People can be more chameleonic than the animal itself. But what is right doesn’t change. I choose to place my loyalty on what is right, regardless of who is in the wrong.

Shalom.🤗

Courage for Today.

Hi Beautiful People.

I feel tired and overwhelmed and restless.

I feel tired of being too tired to be who I wanted to be — who I want to be.

Having plans sometimes is like setting oneself up to fail.

I mean tell me:

What do I do when I make plans and things don’t fall into place because the obstacles were much?

Well, I reverted back to prayers.

Of course, I have always prayed. But there’s praying and there’s praying.

There’s praying in your head and there’s my-heart-is-bleeding-I-can’t-take-this-anymore praying.

Praying with a bleeding heart, is like trying to burst a boil at maturity. It’s painful to touch, much less squeeze and it throbs painfully without being touched.

To leave it on it’s own is not an option, because the pain increases to the point of insomnia.

So you have to clench your teeth against the pain and burst the boil. Once you do, you feel better and relieved.

Sometimes until the pain of where we are stuck in, is greater than the pain of breaking free, we might not pursue true liberty –Paraphrased from the novel “The Last Ten Percent” by Michelle McKinney Hammond

Breaking free can be a Herculean task, but it’s not impossible.

Speaking of Herculean tasks, I recall — not that I have been able to forget — the movie “Hercules” whose lead actor is Dwayne Johnson (I think I might watch it again).

I don’t know if I have written this before, but I believe Dwayne found his true calling in acting. He may have wanted to be a sports man, but his size and skills makes him a better actor as warrior in period/medieval movies.

Back to Hercules.

There are lots of lessons to glean from the movie, but the one that relates most to this particular “muse-ticle” on the issue of pain, is best described by my latest finding on this popular quote:

What doesn’t kill you……

Had. Better. Run!!!!

If you are going through pain I recommend Hercules the movie, featuring Dwayne Johnson — I had to add that, because I don’t know if there are other movie versions.

Hercules had lost enough to kill a man, but when he found the truth about his painful past under …less than congenial circumstances, the truth set him free. And in setting himself free others also gained their freedom right along with him.

No wonder, Jesus Christ said and I quote:

Ye shall know the truth and the truth will make you free.

End quote.

A pastor recently said the word make in that scripture is deliberate and has it’s meaning to the text, but we will talk about that in other muse-letters.

Hercules was legendary for his brute strength and his long strings of victory, but he was running away from a memory.

Which brings me to another point:

To be free from a pain you must gather the courage exclusive for it, because you can’t borrow courage from another experience or victory. You need to begin courage or encourage yourself all over again. Therefore, courage is exclusive.

That’s why we see that many of us are fearless in so many aspects, yet have deep seated phobias in one or more areas of our lives. Phobias we choose to ignore, but they are there waiting — waiting to spring unpleasant surprises on us in our most vulnerable moments.

I wish courage was all encompassing. I really do, because it makes the business of living much easier.

But unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, courage or encouragement does not work that. And I’m learning that the hard way.

This reminds me of the prophet Elijah — the prophet who called down fire more than once in his day. The prophet who never tasted death. Went straight to heaven alive in heavenly escort of horses and chariots of fire.

I mean, that was some serious wonderment that amazes me every time I think about it.

Yet, the same man who stopped rain and called it down when it suited him. Who escaped arrest many times just by disappearing and appearing wherever and whenever he wanted;

Ran away….. ran away, when a witch threatened him!

Some say God had to call him home earlier than planned, because he allowed himself to be frightened by something less than what he had crushed in the past.

The explanation I have for that is: his courage failed him or he lost courage.

This leads me to believe that courage is food we need to injest daily, to be able to withstand unforseen threats that may distabilize us.

Courage is food we need to learn how to feed ourselves with i.e personal encouragement.

We can’t leave our encouragement in the hands of others. Because it’s not always, we can have someone around us to encourage us. Like Dwayne Johnson’s character in Hercules had.

When we depend on yesterday’s meal to sustain us, we would soon faint.

The same applies to courage.

Crownie’s Chronicles

Crownie woke up late — again. She sighed. She needed to stop binging on late night movies. It was worth it in its own way, if she could convince her tired brain of that.

She had recently relocated to her dream country, Italy, because of it’s history, the arts, the ambience and maybe the famous hot Italian men.

‘Maybe’, she said, as she winked to herself.

Being a fashion designer and baker, Italy seemed the place to perfect her arts and maybe start a business, hopefully. Hope and her faith in Jesus Christ was her anchor, otherwise, she was toast.

Fiction as Real as Reality.

Hello wonderful people!💚 I hope we are doing good in our different corners of our global community.

I’m a student of the Arts. I believe literature is the mirror of life. So if literature is the mirror of life, why are we always quick to dismiss stories and literary works as unreal?

For me every story is history or a prophecy come to life. Because we don’t know anyone personally whose life story is similar to fiction, doesn’t mean it isn’t other people’s untold story. Either in the present, past or the future, in any other part of the world. It may have been the author’s imagination, but it doesn’t make it any less real. Like a character in a Indian TV serial said, ‘The truth is sometimes more strange than fiction’.

If stories are all fictitious, then why is it necessary to write before the story that, ‘…any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual events is purely coincidental’? Because it’s possible for someone’s imagination to be another’s reality!

As these thoughts were established in my mind, I set out to always draw lessons from every story I read and movies I watch. The best way to describe fiction for me is what they call Historia in Spanish.

Most of what I have learnt in my life are from fiction. I suppose how one views something will determine what one gets out of it. A lot of people, simply digest fiction for fun or entertainment. But I study fiction like non-fiction material. I see the culture, the fashion in the costume, the beauty in the interior decoration, the themes of the story, the personality of the characters, the uniqueness of the story. That is why, I read the plot/summary of a novel/movie before I watch it.

I love historical, medieval movies a lot. So much infact, that a modern novel/movie has to be extremely unique and interesting, to get and keep my attention.

Fiction is not that removed from reality. If it was, people won’t spend time and money reading or watching fiction. And people are into fiction because, it has life, which only something real can have.

Shalom. 🦋💜
