Lost or Found

One either has something in one’s grasp or one has or is loosing one grasp on something.

To grasp is to have a hold or grip of something. It’s also an understanding of a situation. Grasping requires deliberately holding onto something, with force.

It’s something that was hard won, that if you don’t maintain your grip on it, you might lose it.

Peace, sanity, love, joy and other good things of life can easily go away, if we don’t hold on to it.

Whatever good thing you have found, be it knowledge, an understanding, a vision, a purpose, a relationship, a loyal friend; never take them for granted. Because taking what you have for granted is the beginning of losing that very thing.

Sometimes the effort it takes to grasp something will keep us from losing it.

Usually, we lose our grip on something that we didn’t fight to gain. We just found ourselves in such good fortune or it was handed to us on a platter of gold.

However there are things we have to lose grasp of:

  • People who have hurt us and have no intention of stopping.
  • Past events that have hurt us.
  • Bitterness
  • Anger
  • Hatred
  • Unforgiveness
  • Prejudice
  • Revenge

If we want to live a happy and fulfilling life, we need to lose our grip on negative thoughts, toxic people and toxic habits.

To gain something good you need to lose something bad. To gain a good person you need to let go of those who have chosen to make your life miserable.

Shalom. πŸ¦‹

  1. Such words of wisdom. I’ll be honest in saying that we do know that all these past events which hurt us should be forgotten but its very difficult. Post like yours is a constant reminder of the fact that we have to let go of negative things in life. Thanks for sharing such beautiful insight.
